New Series: Reel to Reel

‘In Reel Life, Past and Present’ is an exciting new three-part series for CHBN presented by Chris Robins and produced by Steve Foster. Chris based his show on some archived interviews from around Cornwall. He revisited the people and places featured, to compare and contrast life in 2024 with the original recordings.

CHBN Shortlisted in National Awards

CHBN have made the shortlist in two categories for the National Hospital Radio Awards 2023.
The station has made the Top 10 shortlist in the categories of "Station of the Year" and "Best Station Promotion" (for our Listener Survey promo). This shows that the station is amongst one of the best in the country.
Some of the team will be travelling to Bolton for the Awards Ceremony in March to see if they pick up Bronze, Silver or Gold in any of the categories. The awards are held as part of the Hospital Broadcasting Association national conference.

Your Community, Your Christmas

Christmas 2020 will be like no other. No matter our age, none of us can recall a time such as now. But crying “Bah! Humbug” and retreating into a bunker will not help. CHBN, Truro’s Community and Hospital Broadcasting Network, is hoping to bring a different kind of Christmas cheer this December, and we need your help.

New Ways to Listen to CHBN in Hospital

If you are in the Royal Cornwall Hospital, West Cornwall Hospital or St. Michael's Hospital you can now listen to CHBN Radio through your Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop using the NHS Wi-Fi.

The NHS Wi-Fi is available for free across all three hospital sites and once you've connected to the network you can enjoy CHBN's radio service through our online player.

For a step-by-step guide on how to connect to the Wi-Fi and listen to CHBN, visit www.chbnradio.org/on-air/how-listen/hospital.

Truro Talk

In this month's edition of TRURO TALK the subject under discussion will be ECOLOGY. How can we all help to make our city and our county greener? The programme is hostwed by Mike Brown and Dieter Kehler and guests in the studio will be representatives of Transition Truro and Michelle Costello who describes herself as an artist and professional beach cleaner.

This is an issue which affects every single one of us, young and old alike, so it always gets people thinking and talking but does it get enough people sufficiently concerned to be actually doing?

Become a 10 Today Champion

Did you know just 10 minutes of physical activity a day can benefit your physical and mental health?

Starting in May tune in to CHBN and take part in 10 minutes of activity to keep stretching and moving, every day. It’s great fun to do and it will be good for you too.

We want groups to take part too! We're looking for volunteers to organise a weekly get together for a group of older people to enjoy ten minutes of physical activity. You can play the activity on CHBN or online.
