FM transmitter upgrade

We are pleased to announce that we have been given clearance by the broadcasting authority OFCOM to increase our FM transmitter power to greatly improve reception of our programmes on 100.8FM in and around the city of Truro..

Work will shortly begin to upgrade our transmitting aerial and the transmitter itself allowing us to increase our signal from 25 Watts to 160 Watts.

Work to carry out the upgrade on our VHF antenna is scheduled for Tuesday 4 August, weather permitting, with the transmitter upgrade and power increase due on Friday 7 August.

As you might expect our FM transmissions will be LIABLE TO INTERRUPTION on those days, and while the exact times of the interruptions are dependant on how smoothly the work progresses they are more likely to be earlier in the day rather than later. Once the work has been completed on Friday 7 August there should be a significant improvement to our signal in and around the city.
